I tend to take a break and drive to 10,000 Waves Japanese
Health Spa in Santa Fe when I get overstressed. The Spa offers a free relaxation room where I can listen to music and sit in the sunlight. I do my Yoga and meditate. 10,000 Waves also allows guests to sit in a foot bath for free. The outdoor foot bath is great because the bathing area overlooks a terrific waterfall with fish swimming around in the small pool. I usually sit in the Meditation room. This month the snow is slowly melting off the roof and into the outdoor foot bath below. Recently, I saw a group of women who were gathered around the foot bath laughing as the water splashed when a snow pack melted into the warm bath.
I have almost all of the C.D.'s that the Gift Shop offers for relaxation music. The atmosphere is beautiful, so the relaxation room and foot bath combined with the spectacular scenary is just enough for me. There is a really great Guest Services employee who I try to tip because he provides me with a warm towel while I'm in the relaxation room.

Therapeutic Massage More Affordable
If more people in society were receiving a therapeutic massage once a month, then society in general would be better off. That's my philosophy anyway. Bob Hope received a therapeutic massage once a day and he lived to be 100. There are no two people alike, so always discuss with your Doctor how often to get a therapeutic massage.
If the budget won't allow you to get a therapeutic massage, then here is just one tip to help tide you over. First, massage the bottom of your earlobes. Just by rubbing the bottom of your earlobes will rub all the traditional chinese points. Rubbing your traditional chinese points will help protect your body's organs, tissues and help boost your immunity.
Nothing compares to an actual therapeutic massage performed by a licensed massage therapist. Most Therapeutic Massage Schools have Clinics where students perform the massages at a very
reasonable rate. Most major cities have more than one Therapeutic Massage School, so there are lots to choose from.
Recently, AMTA lowered the national rate of a one hour massage to only $25. AMTA stands for American Massage Therapy Association. So, look for licensed therapeutic massage therapists that charge only $25 an hour. Currently, in Albuquerque, there is the Oriental Massage located on San Mateo. On Juan Tabo, located between Indian School and Constitution there is a LMT with a sign that says, $28.99 per a one hour massage. In Rio Rancho, not far from Krispy Creme there is a sign that reads, "$25 for one hour massage." There are several LMT's in Albuquerque and surrounding areas that have also lowered their rate to $25 an hour. Massage therapy is a very popular, growing and lucrative industry.

Santa Fe drive from Albuquerque
Currently, I have a new Office in Santa Fe which the drive to Santa Fe from Albuquerque gives me a chance to relax, listen to some music and enjoy the majestic surroundings. I mostly take take the Railrunner to Santa Fe and get to meditate and look out the window. I read in the paper that the Director from the movie, "The Foot Locker," also takes the Rail Runner to Santa Fe. Hmmmm.... maybe I'll get to sit next to and bump shoulders with a famous Film Director!
Usually, while I'm in Santa Fe, I will walk around the Plaza and venture about checking out the various Hotel Spas. Recently, I went into a ritzy Hotel off the Plaza. The Spa at Loretto charges well over $120 per massage!
My motto is just to stay busy and make money by the volume. AMTA just recently lowered the rate for a therapeutic massage to $25 an hour in response to the high unemployment rate and poor economy. I saw the Oprah Winfrey show where
Oprah and her best friend, Gale announced all the great discounts including therapeutic massage and travel. So, at my new Office located in the same building as the University of Phoenix, I'm only charging $25 an hour for a full one hour Swedish Massage. My license number is No. 6160.
New Mexico is known for powerful and healing foot reflexology and therapeutic massages. Foot massages are a great way to relax the entire body!
I get to meet some wonderful people in my therapeutic massage business. I was at the Hair Designer Shop in Albuquerque for over a year where I owned and operated my therapeutic massage business. I'll miss my clients from the Hair Designer Shop. I must have worked on over 700 clients so far including my school clinic hours! What is great is that I feel better after providing a therapeutic massage which is a sign of a great therapeutic massage therapist!
While not providing therapeutic massages, I'm busy strolling around the cafes, bookshops, art
gallaries and clothing stores in Santa Fe.
I love Ten Thousand Waves Spa just outside of Santa Fe. The lotion and oils are made in Placitas, New Mexico. People with allergic reactions to pine need to be a little cautious in using the products because Juniper on the back of the label is called, "Pine." New Mexico locals get a discount on Sunday by showing their NM driver license, so I plan to be at the community spa
at the Japanese Ten Thousand Waves relaxing to get ready for a new week of providing therapeutic massage. I plan to venture out to Placitas next time I drive to Santa Fe and see exactly for myself how the wonderful, healing lotion sold at Ten Thousand Waves is made.
I'm glad that I found the location for my new office in the same building as the University of Phoenix as I like the classroom setting. This week I hope to meet lots of
new clients!
